About us

 

Hello we are Leticia and Valentín and we live in a town called Collado Villalba, situated in the montains, at approximatly 40 km. Northwest from Madrid.

We currently share our home with five cats, three of them are Norwegian Forest. Our cats are part of our family and they enjoy the freedom of the whole house; they also have safe access to a big balcony, properly fenced where they have fresh air, sun and distraction.

We are members of FIFE under the name of "LEMUNARKI*ES" registered with Nº 2091, we are also members of the Spanish Fifé Club: ASFE.

Origin and meaning of our affix

LemuNarki derives from Mapudungun (indigenous Mapuche language) a tribe that used to live in the Cordillera of the Andes in Southern Chile and Argentina, surrounded by forests, lakes, mountains and magnificent landscapes...

LemuNarki´s meaning: Lemu means "Forest" and Narki means "Cat".

The decision of the name came because since I was born my father wanted to named me with a Mapuche´s name "Ayelén", even today sometimes my family still call me that, therefore as we think the sound and meaning of this language is very sweet and having family and friends from Argentina that have managed to convey the love for these lands and their history, we decided that it was a suitable and original name for our cattery.

History of cattery

We used to share our home with three cats when we decided we wanted to extend the family with a Norwegian Forest female; this happened in December 2007 when we met Malibú Abantos *ES and we brought her home. At first we didn´t think about breeding but slowly as time went by we realised that we wanted a male to start our breeding plans, we began to look for him and the search stopped when we saw Muiño do Lago Jakobusland*ES, we didn´t have to put a lot of thought into it as it was love at first sight.

Two weeks after bringing him home and thanks to the advice and support that Edith and Carlos from Jakobusland have given us, we atended to our first cat show.

......And here we are enjoying this experience with great enthusiasm. We would like to thank again Edith and Carlos (Jakobusland*ES) for trusting us with Lago and because from the first moment they accompanied and guided us on the process of becoming and being breeders, as if they were longlife friends.

We don´t want to miss this opportunity to mention the support we have also received from Teresa and Joaquín from Tsavo*ES.
